L is for Livingston and also for Labors of Love

 

When Carlos Aguilar was killed in a tragic single car accident just a short while ago, everyone at City Hall went into mourning.

It was like losing a member of the family

But it didn’t long for friends, family, local business people and others who knew him to get into “high gear”, and put together plans for a Benefit Chicken Dinner and other fund raising activities.

A car wash at the City Hall and the Benefit Chicken dinner raised over $9,000 to be given to Carlos’ family. (I’ll update that number as info becomes available)

A number of individuals and local businesses contributed to the effort, including:

·        Many City employees

·        Fortuna’s

·        Gene-o’s

·        Filo and Jose Arredondo

·        And Gilton

Volunteers washed cars, then cooked up and served up, one grand “labor of love” a few days later.

Like the Mayor is fond of saying…. “This is the kind of people we have in Livingston.”

It’s good to know there are still some kind people in this world.

 

And a lot of them live and work in Livingston.
