NECESSARY ACTION:
City Council assign new Planning Commissioners to specific terms.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
At their regular meeting of January 18, 2011, the City Council unexpectedly appointed two new Planning Commissioners (Harpreet Bains, Mario Mendoza) but did not assign them to fill specific terms in the
chart directly below:
Planning Commissioner Term Expiration Date
Kaye Greeley, resigned near end of term December 31, 2014 (four year term)
Hugo Salgado, resigned December 31, 2012 (two year term)
The terms of the Planning Commissioners are staggered to ensure a continuity of experience. The terms of the current Planning Commissioners are listed in the table below for your information. At their first meeting, the Planning Commissioners will elect a Chair and Vice-Chair.

RESOLUTION NO. 2011- 2011-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVINGSTON ASSIGNING NEW PLANNING COMMISSIONERS TO SPECIFIC TERMS
WHEREAS, the City of Livingston City Council at their regular meeting of January 18, 2011 selected new Planning Commissioners (Harpreet Bains and Mario Mendoza) to fill two open positions; and
WHEREAS, the new Planning Commissioners were not assigned to specific terms at that meeting and Council desires to make those appointments; and
WHEREAS, this action is ministerial and not subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Livingston does hereby assign the new Planning Commissioners to the specific terms below:
