AGENDA ITEM: Council Authorize Purchase of Two Public Works Utility Trucks from Merced Chevrolet.
MEETING DATE: November 13, 2014
PREPARED BY: Odi Ortiz, Assistant City Manager
REVIEWED BY: Jose Antonio Ramirez, City Manager
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the purchase of two Public Works utility trucks from Merced Chevrolet
The City’s Public Works Department has needs for vehicle additions and replacements especially utility trucks to service the areas in sewer, water and storm drainage. Efficiency, productivity and safety will be improved by purchasing two new units. These units are to be used primarily by our sewer, water and streets/storm drainage departments and other departments as needed.
The majority of vehicle cost was factored into the recent utility rate studies for water and sewer services.
Staff has collected three informal quotes on these two units and after internal review; staff recommends the quote received from Merced Chevrolet for two 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD regular cab, 2WD utility pickups out of Merced at $32,160.38 each (net of government rebate).
Approve purchase of Public Works utility trucks.
Purchase of utility trucks will be funded by; Wastewater Capital Fund one (1) unit at $32,160.38 and 50% of one (1) unit by Storm Drain Impact Fee Fund and remaining 50% by Water Capital Fund. No impact to General Fund.
Quotes received from Merced Chevrolet, Inc., Ford Patchetts Turlock, and Smith Chevrolet Cadillac, Inc., Turlock.
