Court Theater Project Update – Nothing new to report. Everything is on hold from the State and property taxes are down.  The grant for $500,000 is on hold.  The project still has a couple of years left on the grant.

OLD BUSINESS:

Wine and Cheese Affair Update:

Ÿ        The Profit and Loss Statement was present to the committee from the Wine & Cheese Event. There is still an outstanding receipt from the silent auction to come.  The person will be contacted.

Tea Party Fund Raiser Update:

Ÿ        The date has been set for September 19 at JoAnn Mires house.

Ÿ        The “Mad Hatter” Tea Bag was passed around for loose coins.

Bunco Fund Raiser

JoAnn Mires attended a couple of Bunco fund raisers recently and found out the following:

Ÿ        Cost to play was $20 with door prizes.  There were also silent auctions, and raffles to raise additional funds.

Ÿ        Hilmar will be having another one on September 13 and it was suggested that some attend to get a better idea on how it is done.

Ÿ        Different organizations have different types of refreshments available.  One had salad bar, another had finger foods.

Ÿ        It was suggested to go ahead with plans to have one.

Ÿ        Kaye Greeley volunteered to be chairperson.

Ÿ        Suggested having it mid to end of October, maybe the week before Halloween.

NEW BUSINESS:

Mayor Daniel Varela suggested a “Texas Hold-um” as another fund raiser event.

Ÿ        Players will pay a cover charge for chips

Ÿ        2-3 rounds of play

Ÿ        Concern was if it would be classified as “gaming”.

Ÿ        He will research out the possibility and will report back.

Gloria Keene has resigned as Vice Chairperson. Nominations were open for Vice Chairperson.

Ÿ        Scott Kenoyer was nominated to replace Gloria Keene.  Kaye Greeley moved and Marge McFadden the motion.  Motion passed.  Scott is Vice Chairperson.

Roger Court e mailed and stated he was interested in the Theater.  Found the information on the internet. Will email information regarding the Court Theater Project

The question was brought to the Mayor regarding someone else from the Council be appointed to attend the meetings since Councilwoman Aguilar withdrew from attending . In the past Roy Soria and Frank Vierra would attend.  Mayor stated that we have Richard Warren and Frank Vierra who can represent the city.

Kaye Greeley will make an announcement at the Planning meeting and Howard Gentry have made announcement at the County meetings regarding the Court Project and when we meet.  We still need to get and keep our name out in the public.

JoAnn Mires would like to send an appreciation gift to Howard Gentry and Clint McFadden for donating their time at the Wine & Cheese Event. The committee will think about what type of gift certificate to get and will bring it back to the next meeting.

Alicia Flores has been hired as the Livingston High School Band Leader.  Mayor Daniel Varela will give the contact information to JoAnn Mires.
