NECESSARY ACTION:
City Council adoption of a resolution naming city parks and approving a sign location for the park at Parkside.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
At their regular meeting of January 18, 2011, the City Council directed staff to contact the Livingston Museum to find appropriate names for currently unnamed parks. The current generic names of the five parks and the list of proposed names are listed below in alphabetical order:
The second task addressed in this report is determining the location for a new sign for the park at Parkside. Staff proposes that the main entrance sign be located on Winton Parkway facing Montcliff Way (see attached site plan) with a second, smaller sign facing Parkside Way.

RESOLUTION NO. 2011-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVINGSTON
ADOPTING NEW PARK NAMES
WHEREAS, the City of Livingston City Council at their regular meeting of January 18, 2011 directed staff to contact the Livingston Museum to find appropriate names for currently unnamed parks; and
WHEREAS, this action is ministerial and not subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Livingston does hereby adopt the following new park names:

Country Lane 2 (Kishi) park
Livingston/Walnut Sports Complex park
Parkside Park
Peach Avenue park
Somerset I park
