RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to review preliminary budget projections for Fiscal Year 2013-14 provided for the July 16, 2013 City Council meeting and address any questions, concerns and/or direction to staff. This second budget session is an opportunity for questions and answers to management/department heads.
BACKGROUND:
Preliminary Fiscal Year 2013-14 Operating Budget material was provided to City Council at the July 16, 2013 City Council meeting. We recommend that City Council and Staff review and bring material provided to the August 20, 2013, meeting should you wish to engage in further review or discussion over any areas of interest.
There have not been any material adjustments or updates to the preliminary projections presented to City Council on July 16, 2013. The general fund Fiscal Year 2013-14 budgetary gap is still near $150,000.
Union negotiations for Public Works and Police are still in progress and an agreement has not been reached. Items being negotiated/proposed by the City would definitely assist in minimizing the anticipated gaps in the general & enterprise funds. City is at the final stages of the negotiations.
